HIRDO prioritized mental health and emotional well-being through its Protection and Psycho-Social Support services. A total of 1,300 drought-displaced individuals — including older people, persons with disabilities, women-headed households, and survivors of gender-based violence — were supported in Kahda and Heliwa districts. These individuals benefited from comprehensive services including psycho-social counseling, trauma healing, physical wellbeing education, and referral support. Through this intervention, HIRDO strengthened the capacity of affected individuals to cope with stress and recover from the emotional impact of displacement and crisis.
